Lunch At Cafe With Wifi

These days I often choose to have lunch at those cafe or kopitiam with wifi service. I'll utilise my afternoon session on blogging before going to work in centre. I can't stay home and blog because my clingy son will never let me be alone. That's why, I patron mostly to old town kopitiam, coffee bean and above is another regular place. It is in Ipoh Garden East, behind Tesco.

Environment : Nice, but quite warm (maybe they want to save aircond coz not many customers)
Service : Average

These are just what I ordered for the afternoon....

Left ~ Baked rice with fish slice and cheese;
Right ~ Honey lemon juice (but, Old Town Kopitiam is better!)

The Best White Coffee In Ipoh

Ahem...this is my favourite place to go for a glass of ice white coffee. I always ask my dad and hubby along for breakfast at Nam Heong coffee shop on every Sunday. The drinks are the best; the food is average fine, but there is one disadvantage, this coffee shop is stuffy and hot especially if you dine in the afternoon.

Let's forget about the bads and now let me show you all my 'lovely' coffee.....yum yum...

Below are the noodles that I usually take. The Penang 'char kuey teow' is one of the popular food here. As for the hakka mee, noodle is just so so, but its meatballs are quite nice.

Left ~ Char Kuey Teow;
Right ~ Hakka mee

Top ~ Meatballs, taufu, fried stuff...

I love the egg tarts sold here too. This is my another sure eat food when I come. Just recognise the sign board of theirs. They sell dim sum too.

I bought so many egg-tarts coz buy 5 free 1 mar....women are like these....always think cheap when get something free! hee..hee... ^-^

Gathering VS Birthday Party

My cousin uncle who has come back from US since 2 years ago is now settling down in his hometown, Ipoh with his beautiful bungalow. He often organises some gatherings for relatives each year. This time, he organised a pot luck contest on his eldest daughter's birthday last Saturday. There were lots of yummy food cooked by our relatives. Hope to share some photos to you all to make you drool like hungry wolves....ha!

For those who bought food and came were then disqualified from the contest. My parents were one of them. They just bought 120 sticks of chicken sate as my mum was lazy to cook. Actually she's not good at cooking....shhh..hope she doesn't mind I'm telling the truth!

* These were the disqualified one! *

Look at all these women, they were so busy preparing their food, ready to lay them on the contest table!

Dang dang dang deng.....here they are....

Announcement of the winners by my cousin uncle, Mr. John.....winners were separated in 2 categories, main dish and dessert.....here they are!!!!!!!!

The winner for main dish was, my grandaunt with sambal shrimp!
And below was the dessert that won out.

We did have fun that day. Hope to see all the relatives again soon in another event....!!

Curry Mee Fever

Although this place is none of the romantic or cozy dining place, this coffee shop in Old Town has its fame on curry mee. It starts business early in the morning at 8am till afternoon around 3pm. Unfortunately, it closes every Saturday. I can't figure out why they rest on the busy weekend.

It was crowded even I reached at 12.20pm. Maybe it is Sunday. Everyone wakes up late like us.

Above are the noodles we ordered. Chicken shredded noodle (Ipoh famous 'gai si hor fun'), curry noodle soup and dried curry noodle. I love the dried curry because I can ask for the least spicy. I can't take food that is too spicy. Sore throat may come! Hubby and my dad love the curry soup which they can really get the taste of curry.

Each time I go there, I'll order this sesame bun. Just feel like eating snack like this even it's not that very tasty. Itchy mouth....
Environment : Clean and cooling
Service : Average

Kimberly Cafe

I go for lunch with my Wei everyday before I take her to school - she is in afternoon session. She refuses to eat in Kinder Castle. She claims that she wants me to walk her in to her class in Mariaville. I then strolled around Greentown, thinking of what to eat. I was totally out of ideas.I then picked this cafe as my stopping point.

Show you the environment inside this 'Kimberly Cafe', in Greentown Business Centre area.

It was not too new to that area. Yet, there are not many people dining in the cafe. Maybe it was not time yet since it was just 12.30pm. Maybe their food is not too attractive. Or maybe it is their luck!

I can't order much food since it was just both of us. These were what we ate only that afternoon.

Left ~ A bowl of seafood noodle and a cup of orange white coffee.
Right ~ A meat floss polo bun

My Wei did not like the noodle because it was spicy. They put a lot of pepper. Just don't know why all people like to put pepper inside soup noodle. Little bit is ok but not too much!
