Dinner Turned Out To Be Disappointed

My Valentine's Day was like a friends and family gathering. Last night was just a usual dinner with hubby, kids and also two couples of friends. Aiyor....old couple already still need romance?? I really hope that I have! Anyway, it was better than no celebration and to stay at home! On the other hand, we all ended up with anger and dissatisfaction in everyone. Not because we were not happy with our spouse, but the bad service and rude waiters and waitresses in Brewsterlane Kitchen at Brewster Road in town.

Grilled Salmon, Cod Fish & Tempura Prawns with salad and french fries

Guess what! The above was the valentines set last night....with two glasses of fruit juice drinks. At first we thought it was cheap, just RM55 for a set of two persons. When the dish was served, O...O.....not even enough for me alone! Yet, the rude waitress told us that was enough!

Hubby and other friends then ordered ala carte like below.

Apple Juice ~ yakkk! Being oxidized too long.....seemed a bit dark in colour.

Some of my friend's dish didn't even come after waiting for an hour. He was mad and cancelled the order. It was a chaos in the kitchen due to the crowd last night, because yesterday was a special day. The owner should have expected this and employed more temporary staff for that night.

The food actually is not bad. The environment is average. It is just they are not well organised and the staff are rude and impatient.

No address and contacts to be displayed here. As this place is not recommended, so just forget about it. So bad huh..... :p

My parents have changed their regular dining place from San Marco to Chatter Place every weekend. My father's cousin runs the cafe. Its concept is something like kopitiam, but it has varieties of chinese food, western food and snacks like sandwiches, chicken wings, nuggets and so forth. The taste of the food there is not bad, or else do you think my dad will visit there?? He is quite a picky eater.

Christmas Dinner With Family

Some of you may not heard of this place even you are staying in Ipoh. I say that because I don't hear anyone talking about this western coffee house. Its name sounds like Malay words, but the picture shown in signboard is more like European style. I dined in this cafe before it moved to a bigger shop here once. I missed its pumpkin soup which made me want to be here again. Too bad, we couldn't have their delicious soup on Christmas night.

Yes, this post was overdued. :p As long as the food is nice and worth to be recommended here.

The special entertainment in Paprika Cafe is the sentimental band in live here. The solo singer owns a sweet feminine voice which could move my son while eating. My boy swung his body left and right while enjoying his toast bread!

They were having Christmas dinner set for that night. Since it was too expensive for us (it costs RM75++ per set), therefore we had our orders in alar carte.

Our meal started off with Mushroom Soup for trial.

Atlantic Tasmania Salmon ~ first time in tasting salmon,....hmmm...not bad, saltish gravy and soft fish.

Spaghetti Bolognese is always my Zi Wei's favourite!

That was a lovely dine, for those who enjoy western style. Anyway, we had to pay for what we enjoyed. That night, the meal cost us RM170 something for 6 persons dine, which included my parents, hubby and my kids. I do hope to hop into the cafe again next time because I still miss my pumpkin soup so much!

Birthday Dine At Brewster's Cafe

My children and I celebrated hubby's birthday on the 27th November night at a new dining place. It is located at one of the middle, old shop in Old Town, near Padang Besar. Some say that it is owned by Michelle Yeoh's relative. That I'm not sure.

The environment in here is soothing and kind of romantic with those dim light on. I can say Brewster's Cafe is more or less like Indulgence. The difference is, this cafe serves pork while the latter does not.

Sirloin Steak ~ medium cooked; with special sauce for the steak.

Tequila Fish Steak ~ by the name it's called, the taste of the sauce is bitter! Eeeaakkk!

Wow, what a great dinner we had that night. The portions are big, some more each of us took one dish, includes my little ones......My God! How could we finish? Well, the taste was good, but just a bit too spicy. My girl and I couldn't take in too much black pepper. That was why Zi Wei couldn't finish her lovely fish!

We spent around RM146 for our dinner that night. Average each dish costs RM20++, the most expensive was the Sirloin Steak which costs RM53 per piece!

45 Minutes In Indulgence

This is a cool and romantic place. We hardly find such dining place in Ipoh. Anyway, the food here is really costly. If it is not because of any special occassion, I may not have the chance to be here. As my little girl missed this place so much, I then spent a short dinner session around 45minutes with her last Sunday. Tell you all secretly......shhhh, I, myself miss this place very much too! ^..^

Here we were, dined in Indulgence which is located at Tambun Road near The Specialist Hospital. We ordered food which were fast to be served like sandwiches. I wished to taste its baked cod fish once again but since we were in a hurry for the Beautiful Ballet Stories, I postponed my desire to another time. Hehe.....

Free "appetizer" for every table.... this bun was hard on its skin! My girl still liked it with butter!

Croissant Sandwiches with Chicken Ham & Melted Cheese ~ too busy snapping photos till the cheese turned hard. Not felt like eating the cheese then!

Look at the wines. They serve wine too. You can always come here to enjoy your beef with red wine. This is how the western enjoy their meal, right?

Lunch At Hard Rock Hotel, Bali

After 3 hours flight, we finally arrived at Bali Ngurah Rai Airport at around 2pm on 24 August. Our tour guide was waiting there to pick us up. We then headed to our hotel for rest. Lovelymummy, her hubby, my Wei and I stayed at Hard Rock Hotel, while Shoppingmum and her family stayed at Nikko Hotel.





Zi Wei and I were very tired and we both were delighted to see our room. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a honeymooner room because I was with a child. Actually it didn't have much difference, just an additional sofa, free condoms and a sweet cake! LOL

I quickly settled my luggage, fill up warm water in the tub, bathed Wei and myself before we went for lunch. While walking towards our dining place, I passed by the swimming pools and it was so beautiful. There is a mini sand beach next to baby pool. My girl yelled that she wanted to go and swim. I promised her I would on the next following day.

We had our meal in Starz Diner, a coffee house in the hotel. It was almost 3:30pm, and we had to go out for dinner at 5:30pm later! Damn early! We were starving. No choice, but to eat little bit as "alas perut".





My girl was given a treat while waiting for the food to be served. Our Lil’rocker was given a colouring book and two balloons. Wow, she was so happy ya!

Here are the snack and drinks we had that day. First came the smoothies with homemade ice-cream and frozen yogurt mix. Cost Rp. 28,000 ( approx RM11.20) each.

Tropical Rock ~ mango, passionfruit, banana, papaya

Buns with butter and jam given, served with soup ~ but, the buns were too hard!

Mushroom Cappuccino ~ creamy mushroom soup with parmesan crouton Rp.4,000 (RM16)

Fresh Vietnamese Spring Roll ~ roasted beef, tomato, cucumber and coriander spring served with nuoc nam sauce. Rp.42,000 (RM16.80)

In Da Club Sandwich ~ toasted wheat bread layered with smoked chicken, bacon, fried egg, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion and french fries. Rp. 48,000 (RM19.20)

While walking along the corridor back to our rooms, we admired the decorations along the pathway and shops.



My Wei felt these two little ant statues funny. They are placed in front of a bakery shop. You may wonder why these ants are made to play guitar? This is 'Hard Rock', which stands the meaning of 'Rock N Roll', playing musical bands, and guitars were the fame of it. I didn't read the history of this hotel, but I know it has something to do with 'The Beatles'. Is this hotel built as a tribute to the honoured singers? I'm not sure. I just can see guitars hanging on the wall with the musician's names attached.
