Average Food Appraisal In Famous Cafe

Another brief updates on the food varieties in Famous Cafe. There are a lot of choices, and they have porridge and dessert soup 'tong sui' as well. Anyway, my comment on the food is just average ranking. I just feel that the food served are not fresh enough.

If you don't mind, just take a short look at the pictures. Let me introduce them, but actually they are just common food.

Ham & Egg Sandwich

Caramelised glutinous rice balls

Sweet & Sour Fish Slice with rice

Banana Milk Shake

If you just need a quick and simple lunch or dinner, this is a good place for you too. Somemore, there is wifi service as well.

9th Day of CNY - Praying Culture

After Valentine's dinner, I then proceeded to celebrate prayers festival of Nineth day of Chinese New Year culture with hubby at Bukit Tambun Seafood Restaurant in Klebang, Ipoh. The owner is my hubby's friend. It is known as "Bai Tian Gong ~拜天宫" in Cantonese. The ceremony started at 12am on 15 Feb, 2008.

Long table was laid with food and fruits for prayers. Hubby's friend was so generous to serve four roast pigs for serving God in prayers.

These were the heap of 'gold' and 'money' for the God. These were then burnt as one session of ceremony.

Great sifu here to chop the roast pigs into pieces.

Roast Porks to be served to guests. Delicious!

Baked Crabs ~ Looks big, but its flesh were too soft and watery!

Fried Kuey Tiao was very nice. Ang gu is my favourite.

Mini mandarin oranges.....juicy sweet.

Hubby and I went home only at 2pm. My God! Very tired and sleepy. I still need to wake up at 7am the next day. Should I say, on that early morning too!

Happy Birthday To Human !

Today is the seventh day of CNY, which is also recognised as "人日" (birthday to human)! Most of the Chinese may eat Yusheng , yee sang or yuu sahng (鱼生), either at home or in the restaurant. It is a Chinese-style raw fish salad, which usually consists of strips of raw fish (most commonly salmon), mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments, among other ingredients. Yusheng literally means "raw fish" but since "fish (鱼)" is commonly conflated with its homophone "abundance (余)", Yúshēng (鱼生) is interpreted as a homophone for Yúshēng (余升) meaning an increase in abundance. Therefore, yusheng is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor.

Lunch With Kids On CNY

Not much programs for me during Chinese New Year days. I hung out with both my kids for lunch on the third day of CNY. I was wondering what to eat, but then slowly I drove my car to the crowded and happening area. I chose Ice Ice Baby again! Can view some photos on its environment and food menu from my posts earlier.

The cafe was full of young people. How wonderful their life is to mingle around with friends and chit-chat anything about the world! My life is a bit different with them. I'm happy too because I have my two lovely kids by my side.

Photo taken while we were waiting anxiously for our food......

This Apple & Celery Mixed Fruit Juice was for my kids. Anyway, my girl doesn't like the smell of celery. I thought this drink contains vitamins and is good for my boy's skin.

Ice-blended by the name 'POWER' ~ banana, milk & chocolate mixed sweetened my day.

My girl celebrated her lucky day (because can eat and play) with

Grilled Chicken Baby Noodle.

I shared Japanese Teriyaki Fish Fillet Baked Rice with my little boy. The portion was quite a lot.

The dish tasted good and there are two rooms for some celebration reservations like birthday party or gathering. I missed to collect the address and contact number again. Hopefully I'll visit again and try to fill in here.

Famous Cafe

Famous Cafe is located at one of the new shoplots along Tasek Road in between of Jusco and Tesco. It is just a normal kopitiam style but with varieties of food and desserts. I went there with my friends for just a quick lunch last Friday, because we planned to go shopping after that.

Nothing special to publish here. That day's purpose was too distracted by shopping mood. What else? For replenishment of new clothes to celebrate Chinese New Year!

Singapore Fried Meehoon

"Garuopa" Fish Slices With Rice

See! Not much eating here. Little bit might help a lot to give us strength on our legs!!! LOL

My parents have changed their regular dining place from San Marco to Chatter Place every weekend. My father's cousin runs the cafe. Its concept is something like kopitiam, but it has varieties of chinese food, western food and snacks like sandwiches, chicken wings, nuggets and so forth. The taste of the food there is not bad, or else do you think my dad will visit there?? He is quite a picky eater.

Wat Tan Fried Mee

Fried Bihun Mee (Guong Fu Char)

Braised Pork Rice

Ginger & Shallot Fish Fillet And Rice

Assam Seafood With Rice

Lagsana

Mint Lamb Chop

The price is reasonable and can be said to be quite cheap. There were six of us that night and we just spent RM 69.40 for food and drinks. There is no tax charged on us.

Mother-In-Law Is A Great Cook

Look here! Isn't she a great cook? It was my hubby's birthday yesterday ~ based on the Chinese calendar, actual birthday is the 27th of November.

She can even bake salted crabs. She just learnt it from a short lesson on the television, and there she was, prepared those yummy crabs for us so easily.

MIL used to prepare a drumstick and two eggs for the birthday boy or girl in her family. Hubby told me that this has been usual since they were a child. Anyway, she didn't do it for me as she said she only can remember her own children's birthday...... :(
It's fine, as I don't like this kind of food.

Mooncake Festival Celebration

An antique of the past from China

My father-in-law got this during his China tour last year. This set is believed to have been used by the emperors in China aged ago. On that night, we all pampered ourselves with the grape wine made by my mother-in-law. Of course, have to store the wine for some time to ensure its taste. Those grapes used were bought from China.

These are another types of wine cups from China. These are called, "Shimmering Green Cup" ~ 夜光杯 . Funny name ya! Can you see the colour of it? When you see it in the dark, it is like shining. FIL told me that these cups are made of some kind of stone, and they are hard to be broken. Have you heard of this poem?

葡萄美酒夜光杯,
欲饮琵琶马上催。
醉卧沙场君莫笑,
方来征战几人回?

Hope you all enjoy the above historical poem ! ...... if you know Mandarin.....hehehe.. ;)

After dinner at home, we laid the table for god serving ceremony on that night to celebrate the festival. Mostly were fruits. I did buy a special homemade agar-agar mooncake to serve the god and goddess.

Does it look nice? It is called "七星伴月" ~ translated......moon accompanied by seven stars! The filling was made by dragonfruit. I bought this from a parent of my tuition centre. Only cost me RM18 for this.
