Average Food Appraisal In Famous Cafe

Another brief updates on the food varieties in Famous Cafe. There are a lot of choices, and they have porridge and dessert soup 'tong sui' as well. Anyway, my comment on the food is just average ranking. I just feel that the food served are not fresh enough.

If you don't mind, just take a short look at the pictures. Let me introduce them, but actually they are just common food.

Ham & Egg Sandwich

Caramelised glutinous rice balls

Sweet & Sour Fish Slice with rice

Banana Milk Shake

If you just need a quick and simple lunch or dinner, this is a good place for you too. Somemore, there is wifi service as well.

Lunch With Kids On CNY

Not much programs for me during Chinese New Year days. I hung out with both my kids for lunch on the third day of CNY. I was wondering what to eat, but then slowly I drove my car to the crowded and happening area. I chose Ice Ice Baby again! Can view some photos on its environment and food menu from my posts earlier.

The cafe was full of young people. How wonderful their life is to mingle around with friends and chit-chat anything about the world! My life is a bit different with them. I'm happy too because I have my two lovely kids by my side.

Photo taken while we were waiting anxiously for our food......

This Apple & Celery Mixed Fruit Juice was for my kids. Anyway, my girl doesn't like the smell of celery. I thought this drink contains vitamins and is good for my boy's skin.

Ice-blended by the name 'POWER' ~ banana, milk & chocolate mixed sweetened my day.

My girl celebrated her lucky day (because can eat and play) with

Grilled Chicken Baby Noodle.

I shared Japanese Teriyaki Fish Fillet Baked Rice with my little boy. The portion was quite a lot.

The dish tasted good and there are two rooms for some celebration reservations like birthday party or gathering. I missed to collect the address and contact number again. Hopefully I'll visit again and try to fill in here.

Famous Cafe

Famous Cafe is located at one of the new shoplots along Tasek Road in between of Jusco and Tesco. It is just a normal kopitiam style but with varieties of food and desserts. I went there with my friends for just a quick lunch last Friday, because we planned to go shopping after that.

Nothing special to publish here. That day's purpose was too distracted by shopping mood. What else? For replenishment of new clothes to celebrate Chinese New Year!

Singapore Fried Meehoon

"Garuopa" Fish Slices With Rice

See! Not much eating here. Little bit might help a lot to give us strength on our legs!!! LOL

My parents have changed their regular dining place from San Marco to Chatter Place every weekend. My father's cousin runs the cafe. Its concept is something like kopitiam, but it has varieties of chinese food, western food and snacks like sandwiches, chicken wings, nuggets and so forth. The taste of the food there is not bad, or else do you think my dad will visit there?? He is quite a picky eater.

Wat Tan Fried Mee

Fried Bihun Mee (Guong Fu Char)

Braised Pork Rice

Ginger & Shallot Fish Fillet And Rice

Assam Seafood With Rice

Lagsana

Mint Lamb Chop

The price is reasonable and can be said to be quite cheap. There were six of us that night and we just spent RM 69.40 for food and drinks. There is no tax charged on us.

Why Don't You Tell Earlier?

There is a new kopitiam originated from Hong Kong style in Jusco. Its name is named as "Food & Tea". There are western and chinese food, with all kinds of juices and mocktails. There are lovely desserts too ~ seen lovely in the menu. I supposed to like this place as the renovation there is beautiful, quite a nice place to dine.

First came the dessert which I feel good....

Yam & Pumpkin Dessert

It has cincau and sago underneath.....later then I know!

Ham Spaghetti Bolognese

Unfortunately, this kopitiam left me a bad impression last Friday while dining with my girl. There were so much frustration rushing towards me that time until I had no mood to take the next picture of my Creamy Cheese Chicken Rice.

While enjoying my dessert, my girl asked me to bring her to the washroom. This is what I dislike the most and she keeps on with the bad habit. Everytime when the food is served, sure she'll ask for pee. I reminded her before entering the kopitiam whether she wanted to go to the washroom first but she refused. I just felt unsafe with the food laid exposed on the table where nobody kept an eye on it! What if some bad people around, putting something bad into our food? How many times have I told to my girl about that!

Well, I was already dark-faced when back from the washroom. My girl then took her spaghetti quietly. After a few minutes, she stopped. She couldn't take it anymore. It was spicy because too much pepper. I thought of exchanging my chicken rice with her. As I fed her the first spoonful, she couldn't even close her mouth! She nearly cried out, complaining that her lips were like being burnt! The rice was more spicy than the spaghetti!! Damn! Why were all the food spicy? There was no description or any picture sign telling us that the food is spicy! Somemore it was named, Creamy Cheese Chicken Rice!!! I complained and scolded the waitress ~ I know she has nothing to do with it. It wasn't her who served me. But, I was so angry! Somebody has to be the victim! I just not satisfied......WHY DON'T THEY TELL EARLIER, OR MENTION IN THE MENU!!! The spaghetti was so wasted. How could I finish two big plates of dish? I just could choose one. I dared not order anymore, worried I might get another spicy dish again!

I purposely put this up to express my frus and anger. Anyway, their food is so so only. Not due to my prejudice, but the rice was cold and quite hard to chew, can say not fresh at all!

HK Actor Branded Kopitiam

Came out from the Nuffnang gathering at around 2:30pm, what will ladies like us do next? No other than shopping, of course! We were at Gurney Plaza, why should we miss? After walking for more than an hour, we stopped by Kim Gary for a drink and some snacks.

Fresh lemon honey with aloe vera cubes

Tomato soup ~ 罗宋汤

Nissin noodle (instant noodle) with vege and mushrooms

Ham & cheese toast

Peanut waffle

This kopitiam is very famous indeed. They have Hong Kong superstar artist ~ 黄宗泽 (forgotten his English name) to advertise for the company. I heard that its franchisee worths around 3 million! Anyway, the food is quite nice and the service is fine. Anyone thinking of setting up Kim Gary in Ipoh? Do tell me to patronise in the first place ya!

Thai Food Kopitiam

When I first saw its new opening in Ipoh Garden South, I 'vowed' to go there once I'm free. Sound serious, huh? I'm always like that, always want to try new stuff. After Wei's art class last Sunday, I feel a bit hungry, so I persuaded my gal to have some snack at Asien Barista. It is a Thai food Kopitiam, but unfortunately I didn't have the chance to try out the Thai dish as their kitchen was closed that time when I patronised. I just ordered some toast bread and a jar of honey green tea for Wei and me.

It has a comfortable environment, and that place is quite windy especially when sitting along the corridor.

Left ~ Honey Green Tea ;
Right ~ Kaya and Butter Toast Soft Bun ;
Bottom ~ Kaya and Butter Toast White Bread....common food niah....

Wei prefers to eat those buns with honey, though it's not to be served like that! Honey is for tea, but I let her, she has the right to eat with her way, rite?

I personally find that the tea jar is cute. Forgive me for being so 'ulu' la...ok? not seeing the world much mar....

Can you see the knob at the side of the jar? I was so silly to ask the waitress how I'm supposed to pour the tea out!

Just press the knob, and the tea will drip down, and I then can pour it into my cup! This is used to control the level of strong taste of the tea only.....LOL ...Thanks for the demo, Wei !!

Brunch At Happy Valley Cafe

It was Labour Day yesterday. My dad and I were not working, I then invited him for a brunch at Happy Valley Cafe near Padang Besar there. That area has turned into a dining area with one whole row of cafes and restaurants. The cafe is actually next to Old Town Kopitiam. At first we all thought that it'll sure be defeated by Old Town, coz it opens right next door. Despite that, it does have its regular customers and it's business is not bad too!

It carries the name of HK turf club. That's why they put pictures of horses in their cafe as display decorations.

My dad is not really interested with the type of food in kopitiam. I then persuaded him that this cafe is different from Old Town. It has more varieties of food and desserts too.

Left ~ Wat Tan Hor (looks nice ya...);
Right ~ Tomato Chicken Spaghetti;

Left ~ Seafood Baked Cheese Rice (quite tasty too, even my dad praised the food);
Right ~ A good drink to enjoy....Jasmine Tea Honey

Ice Cendol ~ not the one of my taste.... :(

Service : Good
