Enjoy Tea Break

Sometimes when I feel a bit bored, I would think of going to enjoy my break. I would then be thinking of either Starbucks or Coffee Bean. Yeah, I know it's not cheap to dine there. Just to pamper myself once a while, no harm right?

Wouldn't you feel lovely with such a nice tea break with your loved ones in Starbucks?

Beer And Wine In Denver Magazine

As this blog is a place for me to savour galores of food and drinks, what else would I talk about besides dining? I often explore each and everywhere for good food to satisfy my taste buds. I read a lot of books and magazines about cooking and dining as well. Denver Magazine is one of the necessary reference where I can find the finest places to “sup and sip” in the city of Denver.

As most of my in-laws family members indulge a lot in beer and wine, I could therefore flip through the Denver Magazine for breweries and vineyards to get them the boldest beers and distinctive wines. It is the most joyous moment to knock on glasses when family members gather around.

Lunch With Kids On CNY

Not much programs for me during Chinese New Year days. I hung out with both my kids for lunch on the third day of CNY. I was wondering what to eat, but then slowly I drove my car to the crowded and happening area. I chose Ice Ice Baby again! Can view some photos on its environment and food menu from my posts earlier.

The cafe was full of young people. How wonderful their life is to mingle around with friends and chit-chat anything about the world! My life is a bit different with them. I'm happy too because I have my two lovely kids by my side.

Photo taken while we were waiting anxiously for our food......

This Apple & Celery Mixed Fruit Juice was for my kids. Anyway, my girl doesn't like the smell of celery. I thought this drink contains vitamins and is good for my boy's skin.

Ice-blended by the name 'POWER' ~ banana, milk & chocolate mixed sweetened my day.

My girl celebrated her lucky day (because can eat and play) with

Grilled Chicken Baby Noodle.

I shared Japanese Teriyaki Fish Fillet Baked Rice with my little boy. The portion was quite a lot.

The dish tasted good and there are two rooms for some celebration reservations like birthday party or gathering. I missed to collect the address and contact number again. Hopefully I'll visit again and try to fill in here.

The Good And Bad Of Coffee

I have a strong desire to coffee. Surprisingly, I just adore white coffee and mocha, definitely not the dark one! Every morning, I would think of the best place for breakfast, not because of the food but the coffee. My parents always say that coffee is not good for health. How far can it be? I just believe everything in this world has prons and cons. Anything taken over the limit will turn bad. There must be good and bad of coffee for sure.

I control myself very well each day. I will not take more than two cups of white coffee each day. Normally, I will just take a cup. The excess caffein contained in coffee does bring harm to our health. Coffee can cause irritable Bowel Syndrome as well as heartburn and in the long term has been linked to Osteoporosis. We know the short term downside of course, shakiness, concentration problems and and an elevated chance of a heart attack.

Anyway, there are studies that have shown that coffee can protect against Parkinsons disease as well as Alzheimers, although I am not sure that hospitals are going to start hopping up old people on caffeine to test whether they will be able to remember any better. Coffee and caffeine can also help prevent Cirrhosis of the liver. One of the big advantages as you can imagine is the boost to the central nervous system, some bodybuilders will drink strong coffee before a workout to improve their strength and endurance during the workout and my hubby has tried this as well, it works.

Well, I have been controlling my desire for white coffee well. I will just drink once every two days to avoid being infected with sore throat again. Hopefully I can keep myself healthy with this to continue enjoying my lovely coffee.....mmmmmmmmm.......

Starbuck Treat

A Sunday evening tea with my greedy little eater, Zi Wei at Starbuck was indeed an enjoyable session in life. A blueberry doughnut for my little girl while a piece of Tiramisu and a Mocha Praline Frappucino for myself really enlightened our day!

I thought of tasting this fruit cake, without notice of its expensive price! I overlooked and expected it to be cost around RM7++. Guess what? I saw the cashier printing out bill with the figure RM18++ ! I should have read the price tag carefully. Wow, very expensive!! I would never buy it again.

Sushi Supper

My little girl here really knew how to enjoy herself. She chose the sofa seat once she stepped into the cafe. There was a screen in front of us like the above picture. We both watched the Astro 9:30pm Hong Kong movie while having our sushi supper. After eating, Zi Wei then laid her body on the sofa like a "sleeping buddha" while enjoying movies and MTVs on screen.

Where were we? We were at Ice Boy Cafe with wifi facility. Well, the place is comfortable and clean. Especially we were entertained while eating!
Actually what can we eat here? The name sounds like a western cafe, but it actually sells Japanese food. I was surprised too.

Unagi Sushi & Unagi Handroll ~ Unagi is our favourite!!

Grape, Apple & Watermelon Ice Juice

Mango Yogurt

This is a nice place if you wish to go online while having something for your tummy. It is quiet not crowdy. Well, where is this cafe? The address is as below.

Tea Break At Asien Barista

Last Sunday, I picked up my Zi Wei from Art class as usual. I was very hungry that evening. I took just a small bit of 'wan tan mee' at home that morning. No wonder I was starving with the noisy grrrrr in stomach. LOL

My girl suggested to walk a few steps to the kopitiam nearby. Remember Asien Barista, the Thai food kopitiam? I found that the menu has changed or I can say improved. Not all the food are spicy and sour. Yes, yes, it is said to be a Thai kopitiam, but my girl and I can't take spicy dish!

Without a second thought, Zi Wei urged me to order this. She has tasted it before long time ago and yet she remembered. She liked it.

Seafood Soft Bun

I was extremely hungry, so I ordered noodle to fully fill up my tummy.

Fried Rice Noodle (面线)

I want something special for sipping too. When I looked at the name in the menu, I promptly decided my order. Guess what? Coffee again! It carries the shop's name, sure it is the best in this kopitiam.

Sweet Blended

I always want to publish my favourite Red Bean Blended in my blog here. I have delayed till today because I hardly go to that coffee shop which is located in Bercham, a few kilometres away from the previous Makro warehouse. Anyone in Ipoh here recognise this coffee shop? Or, this has been your usual place for a sip of sweet blended?

Look below. This shop sells two types of sweet blended drinks. Does it move you from wanting to try it? If not, then it must be my poor snap shot .... :(

Red Bean Blended

Sweet Corn Blended

Both blended are nice, but I prefer Red Bean Blended while my daughter likes the Sweet Corn Blended. Well, it's good too. I can order and taste both drinks at the same time! Yipee....what a gluton mummy here. LOL

Famous White Coffee Spot

Even though I'm having sore throat, I still "ng kia si" and go for white coffee 3 days continuosly in this week! Went to 'Nam Heong' on Tuesday, 'Sun Yuan Loong' (branch) on Wednesday and here it is 'Sun Yuan Loong' (main) in old town to taste its Old Town White Coffee.

I Luv This !

Famous for its beef and soup!

Don't judge by its look. It actually tastes good.

I don't eat beef, so I just take fishballs and meatballs. Very bouncy.....yum yum.... :)

Fire Dragon Fruit Juice

Are you feeling that your body is on fire after seeing this red juice? Just want to share this special drink to all floggers. This lovely freezer is called "Fire Dragon Fruit" which I found in Asien Barista, a Thai food kopitiam in Ipoh Garden South. Looks hot like sexy lady huh? This juice is blended with frozen dragon fruits without any ice. You can still enjoy its cooling freshness and it tastes sweet. Not that sweet like sugar, but real fresh sweetness of the fruits. I like this drink and it looks beautiful. How wonderful and relaxing it is to enjoy a glass of fruit juice like this while chit-chatting with our gangs!

White Coffee, White Coffee, I Luv U!

Don't know why, I keep on thinking of coffee these days. See, I went for a cup of white coffee again just now. Whenever I was asked, what I am going to take for breakfast, I'll sure think of some place which is famous for its white coffee. Here is another hot spot for coffee cravers.

This coffee shop is located at Jalan Bendahara, near to my house. Most of the Ipohian know about this place la.... Sun Yuan Loong (branch). I always come here at least once a week, purposely for its coffee and not its food. Even though it has many food stalls inside, their food is so so only. Common stuff like fishball noodles, economic rice, wan tan mee, fruits ..... etc. That's why no pictures here to show. Nothing special to me, only coffee attracts me here.

This is the kuih-muih that is sold inside the coffee shop. What's in it? Shredded coconut in brown....mandarin called, "椰渣". People who like sweet stuff may like it.

I do think that either we take coffee with iced or hot. If you take it with 1/2 cold 1/2 hot, then it doesn't taste good at all!

White Coffee Spot

I heard that First Habour Coffee Shop in First Garden is the branch of Nam Heong Coffee Shop in old town. Don't know how sure it is! Anyway, I find its white coffee nice too. Of course la, Nam Heong's is the best!

I used to eat the 'wan tan mee' here, but this time I found that the owner of the stall is changed. I doubt this is the one I usually patronised. After tasting the 'wan tan mee', I'm very sure that this is not my taste. ~ that's why picture uploaded turns to be so small already. Not nice mar....so no mood to enlarge it. Anyway, I don't think I'll try this noodle again. Maybe I try something else during my another visit.

The Best White Coffee In Ipoh

Ahem...this is my favourite place to go for a glass of ice white coffee. I always ask my dad and hubby along for breakfast at Nam Heong coffee shop on every Sunday. The drinks are the best; the food is average fine, but there is one disadvantage, this coffee shop is stuffy and hot especially if you dine in the afternoon.

Let's forget about the bads and now let me show you all my 'lovely' coffee.....yum yum...

Below are the noodles that I usually take. The Penang 'char kuey teow' is one of the popular food here. As for the hakka mee, noodle is just so so, but its meatballs are quite nice.

Left ~ Char Kuey Teow;
Right ~ Hakka mee

Top ~ Meatballs, taufu, fried stuff...

I love the egg tarts sold here too. This is my another sure eat food when I come. Just recognise the sign board of theirs. They sell dim sum too.

I bought so many egg-tarts coz buy 5 free 1 mar....women are like these....always think cheap when get something free! hee..hee... ^-^
