Stop By For A Light Supper

I strolled around the town after my daughter's music class last Wed, looking for something to eat. It was already 9:30pm and I was starving. I didn't take my dinner that day. I passed by this little Taiwanese cafe and I decided to stop by. It was near Ave Maria Convent school at Chung Thye Phin Road. I saw it long time ago but didn't feel like trying because there was always very less customers inside. Anyway, I gave it a try that day.

Very simple decoration inside the cafe. It has a small space but can cater almost ten tables of customers.

I didn't know what to eat as most of the noodles are spicy. I then chose this.......Snow Vege Noodles With Spare Ribs. The taste was so so.

I ordered Caramel Brulee for my girl. She didn't like the taste of the layer of sugar on top. It was a bit bitter. But then, I prefer the creme brulee in Left Shore Cafe!

Tea Break At Asien Barista

Last Sunday, I picked up my Zi Wei from Art class as usual. I was very hungry that evening. I took just a small bit of 'wan tan mee' at home that morning. No wonder I was starving with the noisy grrrrr in stomach. LOL

My girl suggested to walk a few steps to the kopitiam nearby. Remember Asien Barista, the Thai food kopitiam? I found that the menu has changed or I can say improved. Not all the food are spicy and sour. Yes, yes, it is said to be a Thai kopitiam, but my girl and I can't take spicy dish!

Without a second thought, Zi Wei urged me to order this. She has tasted it before long time ago and yet she remembered. She liked it.

Seafood Soft Bun

I was extremely hungry, so I ordered noodle to fully fill up my tummy.

Fried Rice Noodle (面线)

I want something special for sipping too. When I looked at the name in the menu, I promptly decided my order. Guess what? Coffee again! It carries the shop's name, sure it is the best in this kopitiam.

Ipoh Famous Bean Sprout & Chicken 芽菜鸡

I guess everyone heard about Ipoh Bean Sprout & Chicken 怡保芽菜鸡. I don't like it much even I'm from Ipoh, but I do visit this shop often with my family. This is another famous shop in Buntong, Ipoh for its bean sprout, chicken and noodles. If anyone asks me about our local food, I'll rather recommend this than the 老黄芽菜鸡 in town. I was told that this shop is owned by the 老黄's sister. Anyway, they both have different style in their food.

Fat and juicy Ipoh bean sprout

Fresh and smooth chicken meat

My dad's favourite chicken feet

Dry noodle ~ tasty, and best with kuey teow mee

I don't have its full address, but I can show you all the way there when you happen to visit Ipoh. What is a friend for then? We should always help each other right?

Full Stomach On Wednesday

Zi Wei and I had a full supper at MP, Greentown last night. If you haven't been there before, you should do so as that is a beautiful and spacious dining restaurant. The place is decorated with colourul lights and other attractive accessories. There are two compartments in this building. You can either enjoy the air-conditioned or the windy air at outdoor bar. There are so many varieties to choose. You can go for steamboat, pizza, steak, noodles or even dim sum.

The exposed area ~ sorry, it's a bit dark....had tried my best...

We chose to expose to the cozy breeze outdoor. We picked a dining table under a roofy tent with a personal ceiling fan on top.

I can't help myself but took a few photos of my silly girl.... :P , to show the environment at the same time....

Hungry girl hunting for my mixed juice ~ carrot, celery and orange

Seafood Claypot Udon

A clear view on the content ~ prawn, fish slices, sotong, mushroom, dunno yu piu or hoi sam, vege, soup is sweeeet....

Club Sandwich plate ~ ham, bacon, cheese, egg, cucumber, vege in sandwich; salad and potato wedges as side dishes

I didn't know that the portions are that much! We both were so full that night. Yet, an hour later we would be sleeping like a pig..... LOL

Hawkers Delight

Dad and I miss the yummy fried noodle of the above stall in Ipoh Garden East. It is same row with the well-known shop called "Fook Seng". If you are one of the youngsters from Ipoh, sure you know it! These hawker stalls are near to the happening places around.

Fried Meehoon Mee is tastier if eggs are added!

Our favourite "Wat Tan Hor" ^.^

Dad and I each took a coconut fruit as our cooling dessert after taking heaty meal. Wow, syiok! Its water coolness penetrated deep into my lung, and its flesh was fresh and crunchy ~ a bit too exaggerate as the flesh is not a biscuit......arg....just don't know the word to describe... :p Taste it is better than thousand words!

Even though I'm having sore throat, I still "ng kia si" and go for white coffee 3 days continuosly in this week! Went to 'Nam Heong' on Tuesday, 'Sun Yuan Loong' (branch) on Wednesday and here it is 'Sun Yuan Loong' (main) in old town to taste its Old Town White Coffee.

I Luv This !

Famous for its beef and soup!

Don't judge by its look. It actually tastes good.

I don't eat beef, so I just take fishballs and meatballs. Very bouncy.....yum yum.... :)

Chee Cheong Fun

Chee Cheong Fun with fried fishballs and fried turnips

Whenever I'm back to Chemor, I'll surely go to the coffee shop in Tasek for a plate of chee cheong fun the next morning! You may say, "What's so special about this chee cheong fun?"

Doesn't it look tasty? Can't judge from its outlook. Only I know the taste!! hmmm....

If you happen to be near Tasek, just drop by to have a cup of white coffee and a plate of chee cheong fun. We can then exchange comments ya! This coffee shop is facing the main road, and is easy to find.

White Coffee Spot

I heard that First Habour Coffee Shop in First Garden is the branch of Nam Heong Coffee Shop in old town. Don't know how sure it is! Anyway, I find its white coffee nice too. Of course la, Nam Heong's is the best!

I used to eat the 'wan tan mee' here, but this time I found that the owner of the stall is changed. I doubt this is the one I usually patronised. After tasting the 'wan tan mee', I'm very sure that this is not my taste. ~ that's why picture uploaded turns to be so small already. Not nice mar....so no mood to enlarge it. Anyway, I don't think I'll try this noodle again. Maybe I try something else during my another visit.

The Best White Coffee In Ipoh

Ahem...this is my favourite place to go for a glass of ice white coffee. I always ask my dad and hubby along for breakfast at Nam Heong coffee shop on every Sunday. The drinks are the best; the food is average fine, but there is one disadvantage, this coffee shop is stuffy and hot especially if you dine in the afternoon.

Let's forget about the bads and now let me show you all my 'lovely' coffee.....yum yum...

Below are the noodles that I usually take. The Penang 'char kuey teow' is one of the popular food here. As for the hakka mee, noodle is just so so, but its meatballs are quite nice.

Left ~ Char Kuey Teow;
Right ~ Hakka mee

Top ~ Meatballs, taufu, fried stuff...

I love the egg tarts sold here too. This is my another sure eat food when I come. Just recognise the sign board of theirs. They sell dim sum too.

I bought so many egg-tarts coz buy 5 free 1 mar....women are like these....always think cheap when get something free! hee..hee... ^-^

Curry Mee Fever

Although this place is none of the romantic or cozy dining place, this coffee shop in Old Town has its fame on curry mee. It starts business early in the morning at 8am till afternoon around 3pm. Unfortunately, it closes every Saturday. I can't figure out why they rest on the busy weekend.

It was crowded even I reached at 12.20pm. Maybe it is Sunday. Everyone wakes up late like us.

Above are the noodles we ordered. Chicken shredded noodle (Ipoh famous 'gai si hor fun'), curry noodle soup and dried curry noodle. I love the dried curry because I can ask for the least spicy. I can't take food that is too spicy. Sore throat may come! Hubby and my dad love the curry soup which they can really get the taste of curry.

Each time I go there, I'll order this sesame bun. Just feel like eating snack like this even it's not that very tasty. Itchy mouth....
Environment : Clean and cooling
Service : Average
