Sometimes when I feel a bit bored, I would think of going to enjoy my break. I would then be thinking of either Starbucks or Coffee Bean. Yeah, I know it's not cheap to dine there. Just to pamper myself once a while, no harm right?

Melting Butter Cookies

All these are homemade cookies purposely sold for the coming Chinese New Year. They are soft with a thick butter taste. The pineapple tarts are my favourite. Even the pineapple filling are hand grated. All are purely own handmade. That's why the price is much higher. It costs RM23 for just even 26 pieces! I can finish all 26 of them within 2 days, if I want.

As for the melting butter cookies, it is somehow like dissolved when put into your mouth. There is another type which is the crunchy type. I prefer the melting taste.

Where do I get this? They are from YUMMY - Kitchen Bake & Dine.

Another Highlight On Beloved Biscuit ~ 老婆饼

This is my favourite. It is my little Zi Wei's favourite too! Remember I posted something on this long time ago. I still can't taste the original one from Hong Kong till today. Anyway, I find the above a bit more similar to the taste of beloved biscuits from 元朗 Yun Long. I bought it from a snack shop near my house. The owner makes all types of biscuits for walk-in sale and distribution to the cake house. It is just 50 cent each. Quite reasonable. Well, at least something to stop my enthusiastic hunger on the original "Beloved Biscuit" ~ '老婆饼' !!

Tea Break At Asien Barista

Last Sunday, I picked up my Zi Wei from Art class as usual. I was very hungry that evening. I took just a small bit of 'wan tan mee' at home that morning. No wonder I was starving with the noisy grrrrr in stomach. LOL

My girl suggested to walk a few steps to the kopitiam nearby. Remember Asien Barista, the Thai food kopitiam? I found that the menu has changed or I can say improved. Not all the food are spicy and sour. Yes, yes, it is said to be a Thai kopitiam, but my girl and I can't take spicy dish!

Without a second thought, Zi Wei urged me to order this. She has tasted it before long time ago and yet she remembered. She liked it.

I want something special for sipping too. When I looked at the name in the menu, I promptly decided my order. Guess what? Coffee again! It carries the shop's name, sure it is the best in this kopitiam.

Famous Rojak In Jelapang Village

Whoever lives in Ipoh may know this place for sure. Don't look down on this little wrecked cottage at one corner in Jelapang village. The hawker runner may be a rich man or a rich woman in the village! It is at the roadside of Jalan Tokong, Jelapang.





Here is its famous rojak in Ipoh. The most important is its rojak sauce. Quite spicy to me, but it is tasty. It makes a difference to the fruits.

Mixed Fruits Dumpling Lou Yeh

Again, Zi Wei demanded me to bring her to Ice Ice Baby for her favourite dumpling last night! Don't know since when she has a strong craving on glutinous rice balls! She even reminded me that she must help her popo in rolling and making the glutinous rice balls on the coming Dumpling Festival. I was impressed. The above dumpling portion is quite big, but my girl could finish almost all of them! Lou Yeh was the one with one ice-cream scoop surrounded by dumplings served in cold.

BBQ Chicken Ham & Lettuce Baby Crepes

The outlook was lovely, but when I cut open it, yak! Looked awful. The more I ate, the more I felt stomachache. Not really pain, but just uncomfortable. It spoilt my appetite. It was a bit spicy too due to the yellow sauce....yeeeerrrrr... :(

Expensive Dessert

Can't imagine this little thing costs RM2.90 each found in Queensbay Mall, Penang! Nothing special, and we are taking in colours. Not because of my Zi Wei, crying for it, I really won't buy! Some more, being warned not to snap any photos while taking one! Luckily I manage to snap a picture on it....haha.... :)

Indonesian Layer Cake

Layer cakes can be found in Malaysia too, but they are sold expensively. When I was in Bali, our tour guide stopped us at the local products shop. Layer cakes, biscuits and other local snacks were sold there. There were some free trial on the snacks too. Our children love the layer cakes. They nearly finished half of the cake! So embarrassing, like hungry children on the street. Maybe they were really very hungry that time because most of the time they could not eat the food in Bali because too spicy. They usually took white rice with some soup. Pity them.....

I bought two layer cakes in whole for my parents and parents-in-law since I like to eat too. Each cost only Rp. 8,000, which was approximately RM32. It was consider cheap, if compared with those sold in Malaysia. Just a packet of 6 pieces here already costs you RM5. I could cut this whole cake into more than 50 pieces!

Full Stomach On Wednesday

Zi Wei and I had a full supper at MP, Greentown last night. If you haven't been there before, you should do so as that is a beautiful and spacious dining restaurant. The place is decorated with colourul lights and other attractive accessories. There are two compartments in this building. You can either enjoy the air-conditioned or the windy air at outdoor bar. There are so many varieties to choose. You can go for steamboat, pizza, steak, noodles or even dim sum.

We chose to expose to the cozy breeze outdoor. We picked a dining table under a roofy tent with a personal ceiling fan on top.

I can't help myself but took a few photos of my silly girl.... :P , to show the environment at the same time....

German Chocolates

The lady boss of San Marco Ice-cream gave us these chocolates. She just came back from German for a tour. We have been good friends because we are the regular customer in her shop.

These chocolate balls are most welcomed by my two kids. These are tasted just like the Fererro Roche, but with the outlook different only.


These are the other type. There are nuts inside the chocolate bars. Actually nothing special, but for those who has a sweet tooth like me may want to try these if you see it!

Bad Comments For "Dragon Pearl Biscuit"

I love local products from Penang. These are the 3 types which I will always buy whenever I'm in Penang. Unfortunately this shop, "Dragon Pearl Biscuit" has left me some bad comments on it. I'll never buy biscuits from there anymore because I find them unfresh and bad taste! Not really the taste that I used to love. I still like these biscuits but I'll get those from Ghee Hiang or Yee Hiang next round. Just take this opportunity to show the products in Penang.



Above is the biscuit that I love. It's originally from Penang. We may find from other states as well, but the taste is totally different. How does it taste? Can see from the white sticky paste in there. It's sweet and chewy. Penang people named it 'Pong Pneah'.



This is another type called 'Tambun Pneah'. Actually this word, "Pneah" came from the Hokkien word, which means 'biscuit'. The content is made of green pea. Tastes salty and sweet as well. It's best served as snack during tea break.



This is my father's favourite, 'Hiong Pneah'. Its content is made of brown sugar. Don't judge by its colour. It tastes sweet and cruncy.

Beloved Biscuit ~ 老婆饼

This box of biscuits is bought from a man in Sun Yuan Loong. This handicap goes from shop to shop selling lots of things like alarm clock, calculator, biscuits and others. Don't be mistaken by the name on the box. These biscuits were homemade locally, and not from 元朗 Yun Long, Hong Kong. After tasted the biscuits, :( ......... it's totally different! Those purely made from Hong Kong is the best that I've ever tasted. Again, I'm disappointed. Why can't the sifu in M'sia learn the method from Hong Kong. aihhh .....char siew....!

Remember my ex-colleague bought the beloved biscuits from 元朗 Yun Long for me. I falls deeply in love of it. Till now, I can't find any local beloved biscuits which can defeat it. Those which are originally from 元朗 Yun Long, not other areas in HK taste the best! I know other place which sells this type of biscuits, and it tastes better than the above brand. Will post it on another day.

My Favourite Food

Thanks a lot for the tag, IpohWay3. I've seen this tag for quite a long time in other bloggers' blogs. I wait and wait, thinking nobody would want to tag me on this. Luckily you turn up!

Hmmm....when asked about favourite food, I was totally lost these few days. I like so much food, which is my favourite? I have my answer finally! It is the Banana Pie from McDonald!

I love craving this snack. Maybe it's made up of banana gravy. My kids and I love banana, and all those banana flavoured snacks. I tasted apple pie from McDonald too, but I prefer this. Banana pie is one of the new item in the menu lately. Those who haven't tasted must try it!



I may not be good at capturing the best view of it, but the taste makes it different. The banana creamy gravy is so sweet ~ not too sweet till you vomit, please....I just don't know how to describe. Its taste is more than a thousand words.
