Dinner Turned Out To Be Disappointed

My Valentine's Day was like a friends and family gathering. Last night was just a usual dinner with hubby, kids and also two couples of friends. Aiyor....old couple already still need romance?? I really hope that I have! Anyway, it was better than no celebration and to stay at home! On the other hand, we all ended up with anger and dissatisfaction in everyone. Not because we were not happy with our spouse, but the bad service and rude waiters and waitresses in Brewsterlane Kitchen at Brewster Road in town.

Grilled Salmon, Cod Fish & Tempura Prawns with salad and french fries

Guess what! The above was the valentines set last night....with two glasses of fruit juice drinks. At first we thought it was cheap, just RM55 for a set of two persons. When the dish was served, O...O.....not even enough for me alone! Yet, the rude waitress told us that was enough!
Hubby and other friends then ordered ala carte like below.

Fried Chicken Set (Japanese style)

Claypot beef slices set with salad and rice

Apple Juice ~ yakkk! Being oxidized too long.....seemed a bit dark in colour.

Some of my friend's dish didn't even come after waiting for an hour. He was mad and cancelled the order. It was a chaos in the kitchen due to the crowd last night, because yesterday was a special day. The owner should have expected this and employed more temporary staff for that night.

The food actually is not bad. The environment is average. It is just they are not well organised and the staff are rude and impatient.

No address and contacts to be displayed here. As this place is not recommended, so just forget about it. So bad huh..... :p

Waraku Japanese Restaurant

Where is this place? Oops, I didn't get the address and contact from the restaurant this time. Waraku Japanese Restaurant is located in Ipoh Garden East, around the new shoplots area. That was my first visit to the restaurant. We chose to sit on the floor, to enjoy how Japanese dine. I noticed that there were so many wine racks in the restaurant. I dared not try the wine as I tasted 'sake' before and I couldn't take more than two sips!

Anyway, the waiter recommended us this special sake, Choya Umeshu. It is a type of plum wine and it tasted good. Most suitable for ladies, as it is not too sweet and not too sour. Just 50ml in the small cute little bottle cost us RM18.

Hubby always orders barbecue food whenever he visits Japanese restaurant. That night, we ordered barbecued asparagus, hackberry and chicken meat. We both felt that the food was too salty.

My usual order in any Japanese food outlets, Una Don (Grilled Eel Rice)

Kaisen Pili-Kala (Seafood Udon & Soba in Spicy Soup)

Hubby just couldn't resist any spicy food, and this was what he ordered. When I looked at it, I knew it would be like 'fire' to me! Well, the conclusion is, and the only word to describe all food here would be "SALTY" !! Hubby and I do not like the food here very much. As for me, I prefer going back to Japanese fast food style, which is the "Sushi King"!

Sushi Supper

My little girl here really knew how to enjoy herself. She chose the sofa seat once she stepped into the cafe. There was a screen in front of us like the above picture. We both watched the Astro 9:30pm Hong Kong movie while having our sushi supper. After eating, Zi Wei then laid her body on the sofa like a "sleeping buddha" while enjoying movies and MTVs on screen.

Where were we? We were at Ice Boy Cafe with wifi facility. Well, the place is comfortable and clean. Especially we were entertained while eating!
Actually what can we eat here? The name sounds like a western cafe, but it actually sells Japanese food. I was surprised too.

Unagi Sushi & Unagi Handroll ~ Unagi is our favourite!!

Grape, Apple & Watermelon Ice Juice

Mango Yogurt

This is a nice place if you wish to go online while having something for your tummy. It is quiet not crowdy. Well, where is this cafe? The address is as below.

Add. : No. 2-1, Persiaran Greentown 8, Pusat Perdagangan Greentown, 30450 Ipoh. Perak.

Sushi For Dinner

As usual, my godsis and godbro join us ~ my parents, kids and I for dinner every Sunday. We were discussing what to eat in the car. Someone popped up a suggestion on having sushi for dinner. My dad kept silence as he dislikes Japanese food. He agreed that he'd go to the hawker nearby for noodle alone. Children in my car shouted,"Hip hip hooray!!"

This is our 3rd time to patronise Sushi East. Its business seems to increase day by day.

We chose a table like the above as there were six of us. This restaurant has another shoplot beside which is the smoking area.

These are specially for Zi Wei ~ 3 Eel Rolls and 2 Masago (fish roe sushi)

Dragon Roll (meat floss and eel as fillings) at both sides; East Roll (topped mango slice with eel as fillings) in the middle

Karage Salad (jellyfish) ~ my mum's favourite

There are varieties of bendo box (set meal ~ rice, egg, fruits) to choose.

Chicken Teriyaki

Una Ju (Eel set)

Donburi ~ Tendon (prawn set)

Each bendo box or donburi comes with miso soup in a set. This soup is believed by the Japanese that drinking it daily may prevent cancer. How far can it be true.....nobody knows......

Nowadays lots of people like to go for Japanese food, and this happens mostly among the ladies group. There are very less fried stuff and mostly the dishes are steamed or cooked. Less oily and healthier if compared to other culturous dine. Women can keep their bodies slim while enjoying delicious food.

There are various sushi restaurants found in the world. If you would like to explore any famous sushi corner in your country or worldwide, you can always find a whole listings of sushi restaurant in the website.

Sushi King Dessert In Season Now Till 31 July

Hubby and I were planning to watch "Transformer" in Kinta City. Unfortunately, tickets left were the first few rows from the screen. We gave up and then proceeded to Ipoh Parade. We were on our bad luck today. The soonest showing slot will be at 11pm. Too late for me because I have to work early tomorrow morning.

Hubby said he was hungry. We then stepped into Sushi King in Ipoh Parade. I have been longed for it since last week. Why? I have tried sushi for hundred of times. No la, I'm hoping to taste the dessert offered this July. It is dessert season till 31 July. So hurry, if you like desserts like below!

Look at these pictures. I just can't resist these sweeties temptation! I have a strong sweet tooth.

Red Bean Ball With Vanilla Ice-cream Fillings

Green Tea And Red Bean Ice-cream

Besides desserts, we did have some sushi and snacks.

There are so much varieties on the roller tray.

Grilled Chicken In Sweet Sauce

Since my mum and kids are sushi cravers, I 'ta pao' ~ took away some of their favourites home. They were so happy and enjoyed their lovely supper just now. My Wei gulped all four pieces of eel sushi within a few minutes. I can't stop her because she was swallowing so fast. My God! She is really my fatty bum bum!

"LAUYA" IroIro Buffet Restaurant

This is the place, located at ground floor in Ipoh Parade. That was the most lowsy buffet that I ever had! Nothing much to eat even at 8pm! And they dare to charge RM30 per head!

These were what we had last night. Just a few types of sushi. Western food le? Can't differentiate whether western or chinese style??!! No mood to take its photo liao...coz not much choices to pick, most of the trays were empty on the table.....nothing to show.... :(

Anyway, its environment is fine, space is broad enough for children to run a bit.

Service is bad too. Those young men don't know how to serve at all. I asked for spoons and forks twice, but then they didn't turn up for me. I have to request for few times till my hubby rather took it for me was even faster!
Environment : Average
Service : Bad
Food : Tasteless !

Having A Full Meal At 'TEN-GOOD' !

So surprisingly I was asked to have dinner with hubby tonight. We supposed to go for steamboat but the shop was closed today. Then hubby asked whether I wanted Japanese food. I nodded and we ended in a Japanese Restaurant called 'TEN-GOOD' ~ 天狗 at Greentown. My hubby knew that I was going to take photos again but he reminded me that the owner might not like what I did. I was worried on his words but I need to blog! I had no choice but to snap photos like a spy there.....

Here is one of the corner in restaurant. Nice and clean ya? There is always a small tray with a set like the above (right) on each table. I found it cute and I just snapped it. The jar on the left contains chilli powder while the other jar on the right contains soya sauce. Nah...not of your concern right? Must be wondering, how the food was like? ok, ok...there were so many choices but I managed to show those that we ordered. Two persons only mar....how to eat that much!

Left ~ Kimuchi Udon (Claypot Udon, Japanese noodle in spicy soup neh, like tomyam!)
Right ~ Harusame gyoza (Chicken wings with dumpling inside!)

Left ~ Saba Fish (kind of rough like the taste of 'kampung fish')
Right ~ Awabi Itame (baby abalone, hubby's favourite with hackberry)

Left ~ These are Kushiyaki, we call Japanese sate with chicken balls, asparagus wrapped in chicken meat, hackberry wrapped in chicken meat,.....etc.
Right ~ Una-don (eel rice), which is my favourite! yummy....it tastes sweet....

We spent RM126 on these food, just only two of us!!!! Once a while is ok with me, not everyday.....or else my hubby's pocket will start to get holes....ke ke ke.... ^-^
