Birthday Dine At Brewster's Cafe

My children and I celebrated hubby's birthday on the 27th November night at a new dining place. It is located at one of the middle, old shop in Old Town, near Padang Besar. Some say that it is owned by Michelle Yeoh's relative. That I'm not sure.

The environment in here is soothing and kind of romantic with those dim light on. I can say Brewster's Cafe is more or less like Indulgence. The difference is, this cafe serves pork while the latter does not.

Sirloin Steak ~ medium cooked; with special sauce for the steak.

Tequila Fish Steak ~ by the name it's called, the taste of the sauce is bitter! Eeeaakkk!

Cheese Burger with Pork ~ for my son

Fish n Chips ~ for my daughter

Wow, what a great dinner we had that night. The portions are big, some more each of us took one dish, includes my little ones......My God! How could we finish? Well, the taste was good, but just a bit too spicy. My girl and I couldn't take in too much black pepper. That was why Zi Wei couldn't finish her lovely fish!

We spent around RM146 for our dinner that night. Average each dish costs RM20++, the most expensive was the Sirloin Steak which costs RM53 per piece!

Treatment For Phlegm

A Night At Pizza Hut

My little girl has been asking me to Pizza Hut every Saturday whenever we go out for dinner with my parents. I always talk her into giving it up because my mum can't take heaty food. Anyway, it was me who gave in this time. Pity popo....has to see us nibbling on our pizzas.

The Malay staff there were very slow in their working pace. Even though there were so many people waiting for order, they still took their own street time. After waiting for more than 20 minutes, our favourite pizzas were served.

All of them enjoyed themselves very much last night. Since then, my dear son always mentions about going to Pizza Hut each and every minutes! Ha!

MIL used to prepare a drumstick and two eggs for the birthday boy or girl in her family. Hubby told me that this has been usual since they were a child. Anyway, she didn't do it for me as she said she only can remember her own children's birthday...... :(
It's fine, as I don't like this kind of food.

Sushi Supper

My little girl here really knew how to enjoy herself. She chose the sofa seat once she stepped into the cafe. There was a screen in front of us like the above picture. We both watched the Astro 9:30pm Hong Kong movie while having our sushi supper. After eating, Zi Wei then laid her body on the sofa like a "sleeping buddha" while enjoying movies and MTVs on screen.



Where were we? We were at Ice Boy Cafe with wifi facility. Well, the place is comfortable and clean. Especially we were entertained while eating!

Actually what can we eat here? The name sounds like a western cafe, but it actually sells Japanese food. I was surprised too.

Tea Break At Asien Barista

Last Sunday, I picked up my Zi Wei from Art class as usual. I was very hungry that evening. I took just a small bit of 'wan tan mee' at home that morning. No wonder I was starving with the noisy grrrrr in stomach. LOL

My girl suggested to walk a few steps to the kopitiam nearby. Remember Asien Barista, the Thai food kopitiam? I found that the menu has changed or I can say improved. Not all the food are spicy and sour. Yes, yes, it is said to be a Thai kopitiam, but my girl and I can't take spicy dish!

Without a second thought, Zi Wei urged me to order this. She has tasted it before long time ago and yet she remembered. She liked it.

Sweet Blended

I always want to publish my favourite Red Bean Blended in my blog here. I have delayed till today because I hardly go to that coffee shop which is located in Bercham, a few kilometres away from the previous Makro warehouse. Anyone in Ipoh here recognise this coffee shop? Care About The Elders

Whenever I see my grandmother, I just can't help but feeling pity for her. She has two sons and four daughters, but none of them are staying with her. She is staying at a house far from town alone. My mum hopes that she can take care of my grandmother but due to limited space and bedrooms, she can't help much. How about the sons? They have a bigger house. Why don't they take care of their own mum. It is their responsibilities.

My grandmother is not feeling well lately. We then suggest to arrange her to the nursing home, so that somebody can take care of her while we were all working. I am glad that the welfare has taken those elders into consideration. With the setting up of care homes, I am glad that it eases my parents' worry of grandmother's health condition. Here is an article which I think I should spread it out as it concerns our health. Many people like to take Panadol whenever they have headache or body pain, including my hubby. Actually, Panadol is harmful. My dear fellow readers, do read this.

DON'T TAKE PANADOL AND PANADOL ACTI FAST AND PANADOL SOLUBLE especially if you have gastric problems.

FYI ...... One real story from a friend .....

My husband was working in a hospital as an IT engineer, as the hospital is planning to set up a database of its patient. And he knows some of the doctors quite well. The doctors used to tell him that whenever they have a headache, they are not willing to take PANADOL (PARACETMOL). In fact,they will turn to Chinese Herbal Medicine or find other alternatives. This is because Panadol is toxic to the body, and it harms the liver.

According to the doctor, Panadol will reside in the body for at least 5 years. And according to the doctor, there used to be an incident where an air stewardess consumes a lot of panadol during her menstrual as she needs to stand all the time. She's now in her early 30's, and she needs to wash her kidney (DIALYSIS) every month.

As said by the doctor that whenever we have a headache, that's because it is due to the electron/Ion imbalance in the brain. As an alternative solution to cope with this matter, they suggested that we buy 1 or 2 cans of isotonic drink (eg.100PLUS), and mix it with drinking water according to a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 (simply, it means one cup 100plus, one cup water.or 2 cups water). As Panadol is a pain killer, the more Panadol you take, the lesser would be your threshold for pain (your endurance level for pain). We all will fall ill as we aged, for woman, we would need to go through childbirth. Imagine that we had spent our entire life popping quite a substantial amount of Panadol (Pain Killer) when you need to have a surgery or operation, you will need a much more amount of general anesthetic to numb your surgical pain than the average person who seldom or rarely takes Panadol . If you have a very high intake of Panadol throughout your life (Migraine, Menstrual cramps) it is very likely that normal general anesthetic will have no effects on you as your body is pumped full with panadol and your body is so used to pain killer that you would need a much stronger pain killer, Morphine??


So. Value your life and think before you easily pop that familiar pill into your mouth! Ok?

Metal Cabinets

We have seen metal cabinets in the mechanic shops, offices and even in the garage. An idea pops up where these cabinets are suggested to be used as well in our home kitchen. Normally, cabinets chosen at home are made of wood. Everyone is so used to it in life. Anyway, I will not reject the installation of such cabinets in my kitchen if I have no children around. I am quite worried of the sharp edges of the metal cabinets. I am scared that my children will knock themselves while running in the house. Have I worried too much? I think I will only choose metal cabinets when my children have grown up few more years later.
