Continue Education Online

* This blog post is based on information provided by Blogitive. For more information, please visit Blogitive.com *

I love running places to taste good food, but there is one regret that I don't even know how to cook. I hope to gain more knowledge on this field, for the sake of my family, to be a good wife and a caring mother. I'm thinking of continuing education online at Capella University. This university provides an array of online services with quick access to financial aid, support from academic advisors, and other resources that enable Capella learners to focus on achieving their educational and professional goals.

Sounds absurb? Especially looking for cooking course through online learning! If it's really impossible for such a course to be exist in Capella, I may consider taking up MBA in Health Care Management. Something that related closely to food health. I'm so keen on this. Hope that I'll be successful on my decision.

Chee Cheong Fun

Chee Cheong Fun with fried fishballs and fried turnips

Whenever I'm back to Chemor, I'll surely go to the coffee shop in Tasek for a plate of chee cheong fun the next morning! You may say, "What's so special about this chee cheong fun?"

Doesn't it look tasty? Can't judge from its outlook. Only I know the taste!! hmmm....

If you happen to be near Tasek, just drop by to have a cup of white coffee and a plate of chee cheong fun. We can then exchange comments ya! This coffee shop is facing the main road, and is easy to find.

Hong Kong Dream

I have always dreamt of going to Hong Kong, Island Pearl of East once again. This time, I will definitely bring my kids along as they can enjoy in Disneyland and Ocean Park. I missed out all the popular scenic spots during my previous visit. Really want to scold that lowsy tour guide who knew very little of Hong Kong, I should say. I read those blogs from other food bloggers who have just been to Hong Kong, and saw those lovely yummy desserts that I have longed for tasting. Bird's nest egg tarts and glutinous rice with mango fillings......I am certain I will be going this year end.

Now it is the high time to look for Cheap Hotels. I am planning to go during the school holidays, hopefully around the Christmas season. That is why booking for hotels has to be done in advance to enjoy promotional rates as my trip falls on super peak season. Booking done on HotelReservations.com may help to save up to 70%! This is a useful site searching for hotels, motels, resorts, vacation rentals and even vacation packages. Flight tickets can be booked through this site as well.

I think the location of Metropark Hotel Causeway Bay is quite strategic, as it is across the street from Victoria Park and two kilometers from the Convention and Exhibition Centre. Average nightly rate is $119.06. Quite reasonable. The best out of it is, this travel site provides map as city guides for us to research and plan our trip.

There is another good news from HotelReservations.com. Once I make a reservation online, I am then eligible for the rebate from $20 to $100 depends on the number of nights of stay. It is guranteed lower rates. I can now save more for shopping needs.

I really can't wait to pick up the phone and dial the worldwide number (1)817-333-5105 for booking. Of course, I have to get the approval and consent from hubby first. I am confident that I will convince him with all the good points shown on the site!

HK Actor Branded Kopitiam

Came out from the Nuffnang gathering at around 2:30pm, what will ladies like us do next? No other than shopping, of course! We were at Gurney Plaza, why should we miss? After walking for more than an hour, we stopped by Kim Gary for a drink and some snacks.

Fresh lemon honey with aloe vera cubes

Tomato soup ~ 罗宋汤

Nissin noodle (instant noodle) with vege and mushrooms

Ham & cheese toast

Peanut waffle

This kopitiam is very famous indeed. They have Hong Kong superstar artist ~ 黄宗泽 (forgotten his English name) to advertise for the company. I heard that its franchisee worths around 3 million! Anyway, the food is quite nice and the service is fine. Anyone thinking of setting up Kim Gary in Ipoh? Do tell me to patronise in the first place ya!

Bloggers Gathering In Penang

Foodloft was the place where the bloggers meet and gather yesterday noon. It's at the 4th floor of Gurney Plaza, Penang. A beautiful, cozy and classy dining place.

Each of the guest was given a prepaid card worth RM15 for ordering food. If the order exceeds the given amount, we paid the extra separately when we left. There are all kinds of varieties to choose, Western, Nyonya, Chinese, Thai & Vietnamese and even desserts.

The staff are neatly dressed.

So many that I would like to try, but I just have a little tummy...yum...yum...

I just ordered these food that I love.

Fried Pan Fillet with Passion Fruit Sauce

Egg with Shark Fin and Crabmeat

Lovely dessert of Hargen Dazz ice-cream ~ chocolate

Mango pudding with Lychee

I didn't notice that the ice-cream that I ordered costs RM9 per scoop! I was too desperate to eat Hargen Dazz ice-cream already!! Crazy!! If I was fresh minded that that, I won't have ordered it. Anyway, it is a good place to enjoy meal indeed.

Dumpling Festival

My MIL will definitely celebrate every important Chinese cultural festival each year. Today is the Dumpling Festival and this is the dumpling that she made. It's tasty even she has not been making it since few years ago.

What ingredients can you see here? It's homemade and of course the best contents will be put inside. Besides the usual one like mushrooms, chestnuts and salt eggs, she put oyster, scallops and even baby abalone! My MIL is very clever at cooking indeed. I hope I may receive some skills from her .....

Expensive Birthday Dinner

I'm not sure how others will think. I consider a RM200 dinner for just 2 adults and 2 kids is quite expensive already. Citrus Wine & Dine is another classy dining place located in Ipoh Garden East, at the previous Antap building.

Design and decorations are just as common, but their food and prices in the menu are totally different. Anyway, if you would like to enjoy a relaxing and romantic dinner with loved ones once in a while, this should be a correct choice. Their food is not bad. Show you all what my family and I took that night.

Welcomed ourselves with the below mocktail and cocktail.

Top ~ Cinderalla (Pineapple, Orange, Lime, Grenadine, Lime, Soda) RM11;
Bottom ~ Margarita (Tequila, Triple Sec & Lime)
RM15.

What's the difference? Cocktail contains alcohol while mocktail is purely a mixed juice. Can you see those whitish powder around the glass of cocktail? That was salt, maybe to add some salty feel to the drink.

An appetizer ~ 3-Way Prawn RM18 to start up the meal.
(fried prawn with Basil in Kataifi Roll, Poached prawns on melons, Cajun prawns in Shooter Glass with corn salsa)

Seafood Minestrone Soup RM16
(Classical Italian tomato broth with scallops, mussels, squid, prawns, fish cubes and vege served with their famous house bread)

Kids' meal ~ Spaghetti Bolognaise Chicken RM7.90

Grilled Australian Tenderloin with Mushroom Ragout, Laced with Truffle Vinaigrette RM50

I've accidentally deleted the photo of my cod fish which costs RM55. With addition of service tax around RM17 and government tax RM9, sum up to be exactly RM201.14 ! Happy? Happy....

Bad Comments For "Dragon Pearl Biscuit"

I love local products from Penang. These are the 3 types which I will always buy whenever I'm in Penang. Unfortunately this shop, "Dragon Pearl Biscuit" has left me some bad comments on it. I'll never buy biscuits from there anymore because I find them unfresh and bad taste! Not really the taste that I used to love. I still like these biscuits but I'll get those from Ghee Hiang or Yee Hiang next round. Just take this opportunity to show the products in Penang.

Above is the biscuit that I love. It's originally from Penang. We may find from other states as well, but the taste is totally different. How does it taste? Can see from the white sticky paste in there. It's sweet and chewy. Penang people named it 'Pong Pneah'.

This is another type called 'Tambun Pneah'. Actually this word, "Pneah" came from the Hokkien word, which means 'biscuit'. The content is made of green pea. Tastes salty and sweet as well. It's best served as snack during tea break.

This is my father's favourite, 'Hiong Pneah'. Its content is made of brown sugar. Don't judge by its colour. It tastes sweet and cruncy.

Dim Sum At Tai Thong Restaurant

I heard that Tai Thong Restaurant is doing some promotion. Their dim sum is charged only at RM1.98 per basket on every Wed and Sat. The coming highlight in July is, they expand the days to 3 days, which is on Tues, Thurs, Sat due to good response.

This restaurant is at the ground floor in Heritage Hotel. Since today I'm free in the morning, I invited hubby to bring along my mum and kids for a taste on the dim sum.

The hall is spacious and comfortable.

Here are the lovely dim sum we ate.

But then this 'Chee Cheong Fun' is not that good lor, served in cold!

Top ~ Golden Treasure Dumpling, costs RM11.80 a loaf!
Bottom ~ Usual ingredients, meat, salted egg, chestnuts and mushrooms, but the taste...eee...quite salty! :(

Anyway, I comment it as average. If you like to enjoy dim sum with good and cozy environment, you can pick this as your choice.

Pingo Can Help !

As you all know, I like talking about food. When comes to 'talking', it means I will be hanging around with my mobile sticking to my ears! I remember the time when I was in Korea last year, I just can't help but calling everyone at home during the nights. Actually I was bored because no activities at night that time. When I was back to Malaysia, phew!! I was shocked to see my statement! It is almost triple my monthly charges!

I believe Pingo could be able to solve my problems. Pingo is having phone card international to help us save up more especially for mobile users, which can be as much as 90%. It provides clear and reliable calls. It is then guaranteed with its proven network.

Pingo's call rates are considered the lowest in the industry. If you often make calls to India, you shall look up for the best India Calling Card. Or, if you are more desperate in looking for China Phone Card, you could view it by clicking its link here.

Pingo Phone Card International has no additional or hidden charges like many other domestic or international phone cards, but just a very nominal 98 cents USD monthly maintenance fee. We do not need any pin dialing whenever we make a call. This makes it easier to use. Pingo RateWatcher helps to save the hassle of comparing phone cards and looking for lower international rates. It is a great opportunity offered by Pingo. Besides, Pingo even offer automatic recharge. Therefore, we shall have no worry of being cut off in the middle of an international call due to insufficient funds in account. Customers may manage their own accounts online, to make it more direct.

I am heading to Bali soon. I hope Pingo works the best for me. What's more? I will get $5 USD free calling once signing up. I may get an additional $5 USD free calls for each friend that I refer to Pingo. It sounds good!
