Tea Break At Asien Barista

Last Sunday, I picked up my Zi Wei from Art class as usual. I was very hungry that evening. I took just a small bit of 'wan tan mee' at home that morning. No wonder I was starving with the noisy grrrrr in stomach. LOL

My girl suggested to walk a few steps to the kopitiam nearby. Remember Asien Barista, the Thai food kopitiam? I found that the menu has changed or I can say improved. Not all the food are spicy and sour. Yes, yes, it is said to be a Thai kopitiam, but my girl and I can't take spicy dish!

Without a second thought, Zi Wei urged me to order this. She has tasted it before long time ago and yet she remembered. She liked it.

I was extremely hungry, so I ordered noodle to fully fill up my tummy.

I want something special for sipping too. When I looked at the name in the menu, I promptly decided my order. Guess what? Coffee again! It carries the shop's name, sure it is the best in this kopitiam.

Sweet Blended

I always want to publish my favourite Red Bean Blended in my blog here. I have delayed till today because I hardly go to that coffee shop which is located in Bercham, a few kilometres away from the previous Makro warehouse. Anyone in Ipoh here recognise this coffee shop? Or, this has been your usual place for a sip of sweet blended?

Both blended are nice, but I prefer Red Bean Blended while my daughter likes the Sweet Corn Blended. Well, it's good too. I can order and taste both drinks at the same time! Yipee....what a gluton mummy here. LOL

Care About The Elders

Whenever I see my grandmother, I just can't help but feeling pity for her. She has two sons and four daughters, but none of them are staying with her. She is staying at a house far from town alone. My mum hopes that she can take care of my grandmother but due to limited space and bedrooms, she can't help much. How about the sons? They have a bigger house. Why don't they take care of their own mum. It is their responsibilities.

My grandmother is not feeling well lately. We then suggest to arrange her to the nursing home, so that somebody can take care of her while we were all working. I am glad that the welfare has taken those elders into consideration. With the setting up of care homes, I am glad that it eases my parents' worry of grandmother's health condition. Nursing homes is indeed very necessary to the elders especially when they are sick unattended. Thank you to Bettercaring for making the society more caring and humane.

100PLUS & WATER Please! Not PANADOL!

Here is an article which I think I should spread it out as it concerns our health. Many people like to take Panadol whenever they have headache or body pain, including my hubby. Actually, Panadol is harmful. My dear fellow readers, do read this.

DON'T TAKE PANADOL AND PANADOL ACTI FAST AND PANADOL SOLUBLE especially if you have gastric problems.

FYI ...... One real story from a friend .....

My husband was working in a hospital as an IT engineer, as the hospital is planning to set up a database of its patient. And he knows some of the doctors quite well. The doctors used to tell him that whenever they have a headache, they are not willing to take PANADOL (PARACETMOL). In fact,they will turn to Chinese Herbal Medicine or find other alternatives. This is because Panadol is toxic to the body, and it harms the liver.

According to the doctor, Panadol will reside in the body for at least 5 years. And according to the doctor, there used to be an incident where an air stewardess consumes a lot of panadol during her menstrual as she needs to stand all the time. She's now in her early 30's, and she needs to wash her kidney (DIALYSIS) every month.

As said by the doctor that whenever we have a headache, that's because it is due to the electron/Ion imbalance in the brain. As an alternative solution to cope with this matter, they suggested that we buy 1 or 2 cans of isotonic drink (eg.100PLUS), and mix it with drinking water according to a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 (simply, it means one cup 100plus, one cup water.or 2 cups water). Me and my husband have tried this on several occasions, and it seems to work well. Another method will be to submerge your feet in a basin of warm water so that it bring the blood pressure down from your throbbing head.

As Panadol is a pain killer, the more Panadol you take, the lesser would be your threshold for pain (your endurance level for pain). We all will fall ill as we aged, for woman, we would need to go through childbirth. Imagine that we had spent our entire life popping quite a substantial amount of Panadol (Pain Killer) when you need to have a surgery or operation, you will need a much more amount of general anesthetic to numb your surgical pain than the average person who seldom or rarely takes Panadol . If you have a very high intake of Panadol throughout your life (Migraine, Menstrual cramps) it is very likely that normal general anesthetic will have no effects on you as your body is pumped full with panadol and your body is so used to pain killer that you would need a much stronger pain killer, Morphine??


So. Value your life and think before you easily pop that familiar pill into your mouth! Ok?

Metal Cabinets

We have seen metal cabinets in the mechanic shops, offices and even in the garage. An idea pops up where these cabinets are suggested to be used as well in our home kitchen. Normally, cabinets chosen at home are made of wood. Everyone is so used to it in life. Anyway, I will not reject the installation of such cabinets in my kitchen if I have no children around. I am quite worried of the sharp edges of the metal cabinets. I am scared that my children will knock themselves while running in the house. Have I worried too much? I think I will only choose metal cabinets when my children have grown up few more years later.
